AbolitionNC first and foremost serves survivors of human trafficking in the greater Triad region. Our primary goal is to walk alongside a survivor as they receive counseling, health care attention, education and employment assistance. Our hope is for them to experience emotional, physical and spiritual restoration as we serve and care for them. Additionally, AbolitionNC is committed to equipping our local businesses and educational communities with the distinct ability to identify victims of human trafficking, perpetrators and those at-risk individuals and provide them with the knowledge and resources already in place within our community.
For a victim of human trafficking, isolation and rejection are all too common. Many times manipulation and forced perceptions have left them feeling outside of “normal society”. They are fearful of judgment and continued rejection. When we can tell them that multiple organizations and many loving people have made their freedom a success, they begin to see their value and place in our community. This is one of the most rewarding aspects of our work.
We enjoy partnering with passionate organizations that believe in the value of all people. It has always been AbolitionNC’s belief that shared resources and talents make our work most impactful. Join us in working collaboratively on behalf of survivors.
As an organization, how can you work with AbolitionNC to support freedom?
As an individual or small group, what skills and talents can you share to encourage the vulnerable?
Working together collectively provides the hope that here is place for each of us in our community.
Over the course of history, culture has primarily been changed by small groups of determined leaders, namely men and women at the head of networks or institutions, working together, focusing on common purposes. One of the most remarkable is that of a gathering assembled by the British abolitionist, William Wilberforce, to address the abolition of the slave trade in Great Britain. These men and women, known as the “Clapham Circle,” possessed “cultural capital.” They wielded both power and influence and worked together to successfully end slavery in their land. Like other successful, culture-changing agents, this circle of leaders started off with a goal and a plan. As a direct result of their faithful efforts, their culture was changed forever.
The time is now to change the course of trafficking in the Triad. Would you consider becoming a member of Wilberforce Clapham Circle with a "cultural capital" gift of $2500?
We would love to discuss this important opportunity with you.
