Awareness & Prevention Education

AbolitionNC is committed to awareness and prevention education. Volunteer opportunities are available with our curriculum, FreewayNC, which was developed to educate youth about human trafficking. FreewayNC currently includes 18 animated student videos, three teacher guides, a teacher training module, and website resources. Visit FreewayNC.org to learn more about the curriculum.
 

Volunteer opportunities include teaching youth, training educators and community awareness speaking opportunities, as well as behind the scenes work including administrative, development, marketing, and promotion. We are also looking for various experts to review our curriculum materials. Specific volunteer opportunities are listed below. Volunteer Opportunities

FreewayNC Youth Educator

FreewayNC Youth Educators teach the FreewayNC curriculum to youth on behalf of AbolitionNC.
(A Background check, forms, and a training process are required for becoming a youth educator.)

Human Trafficking Professional Training

This includes opportunities to speak or help at trainings organized for school staff, medical professionals and social workers. (A Background check, forms, and a training process are required for involvement in this program.)

Research Study Support

Assist with research studies that are being conducted in connection with the curriculum.

Data Entry or General Administrative Responsibilities

Assist with General Administrative Responsibilities 

FreewayNC Teacher Trainer

FreewayNC Teacher Trainers lead or help lead FreewayNC Educator Trainings. Specifically, teacher trainers educate groups of teachers on how to use the FreewayNC curriculum. The
FreewayNC training module is used to simplify the teacher trainer’s job.

(A Background check, forms, and a training process are required for becoming a teacher trainer.)

Curriculum Development Support

AbolitionNC is committed to the continuing development of education materials. There are a variety of opportunities to get involved in curriculum development including helping to develop materials, proofreading, and internet research.

Promotion of the Curriculum

We are looking for partnering organizations and individuals interested in promoting the curriculum.

Human Trafficking Community Education

This includes opportunities to speak or help at events organized for community awareness.

Expert Curriculum Reviewer

AbolitionNC is looking for professionals and credentialed experts to review curriculum materials.
We need expert reviewers in any of the following fields: law, health education, curriculum development, human trafficking, law enforcement, sexual health education, adolescent psychology, behavioral counseling, medicine, human anatomy, biology, and ethics.
